Materials for Chunky Collar Necklace :-

7 x large oval grey beads (approx. 30mm diameter)
8 x medium turquoise plastic beads (approx. 18mm)
7 x smaller oval green beads (approx. 15mm)
green cotton waxed cord
leather crimps and fastenings

Step-by-step :-

1.  Thread a turquoise-; a green-; a turquoise- and a large grey plastic bead on to the centre of an approx. 110cm piece of green cotton waxed cord.  Cross the opposite cord end in the first turquoise bead.

2.  Next, add a large grey bead on to the right cord.  Add a green bead on the left and cross in another turquoise.  Make five more loops like these.

3.  After the seventh loop, secure the loose cord ends with a temporary knot.  Cut a piece of cord of approx. 60cm and feed it through all seven green beads in the top row of the necklace.  Thereafter, loosen the temporary knot and tie all three cords together.

4.  Cut an approx. 40cm piece of cord and feed through the original turquoise bead on the other end of the necklace.  Pull cord ends to ensure they’re equal in length.  Tie all three of these cords together also and then braid them loosely.  Repeat the same on the other side.  Finish with leather crimps and fastenings.
